Leaside

Disclaimer: That image above is Builder's Island. I'm using this brilliant world as a quick loading spot to build for Leaside.

Leaside: I've put Devonhall/Rorag aside until I buy University Life. The whole idea around that world was a magical world with a Hogwarts-y school so I sort of held off to see what they'd do with uni. So! Leaside is a New England coastal inspired town I'm doing on a medium map. Want to keep it small to see if I can actually finish one lol. We'll see how it goes!

Map Size: Medium 300
Terrain Type:
Island no DT
Residential Lots:
30
Community Lost:
17
Rabbit Holes:
14
Neighborhoods:
  • Glencastle - Rich Hills
  • Strathmoore - Main Residential
  • Priory Square - Downtown
  • Bell Harbor - Beach Town (read: THE COAST), the rest of the town isn't going to look as "coastal" as this area. Bright colours, beach-y shops 'n' shacks etc. Cute!
  • Industrial - Noname for now

Obviously the lot stuff is subject to change once I start plotting. All I want to do is dive in but I should have been in bed for work over three hours ago! That's what happens when your graphics card goes kaput and you're out of commission for 4 months. JUST got Darth freddie back from the broken computer hospital on Saturday and I spent the rest of the weekend messing about with sim-y things. Anyway I'm sort of house sitting at my mom's so I'm hopping back and forth between sim stuff at my place and well... house sitting. Lame. Must... go... to... bed. sigh.

I've got a starter house to upload but I think I'll wait until I have some of the world started and maybe one more house before posting. Though it is up on my tumblr and in my new thread at TSD. Yay new shit!

Devonhall begins... for reals this time

sorry that it's also in my header XD. i hate that. so little time to squeeze in any sims time so any one dinky pic i can show is plastered everywhere.

one thing i'll say is i finally understand what a bitch CAW is. once you really start digging in it's hella frustrating. i've done this canal/bridge area three times now. i was going for a fourth because things will NOT LINE UP and i'm afraid cabs are going to go leaping over the channel instead of smoothly along the bridge. i'm totally going to test in game with a vehicle next time i dive in.

anyway! i just threw up a bunch of stuff along it so i could make a neat lil' blog header. that's not exactly how this area is going to look. i plan on quite a few custom buildings to fit what i want for this area. which is a sort of kitchy but yuppy indoor/outdoor market. bookstores, antiques, salon/spa, lounge etc. there will be a subway stop on either side of the bridge for convenience. on the side with the buildings and beyond will be the downtown core, the "port town" (industiral, transport, lofts, dive bars etc), and the student ghetto/university. on the side we can't see will be the hillside wealthy manors (in the actual mountains with country club and i'm really wanting to fit some sort of tomb in somewhere), and the seaside village.

yeah. so it's 2:30am and i'm completely babbling out of my face and should have been in bed two and a half hours ago. everything's taking me longer because of it so i gotta split. my plan is for my next post to actually include a map and some proper explanation rather than this sleepy wall of text jibberish.

'till next time!

lost devonhall *cries*

so this was probably as far as i ever got in CAW. but, i'm so super smart i decided to upgrade last night. as we all know patching requires you to reinstall CAW. did i save devonhall before doing so? why would i do that? i always just dive in and start doing things without thinking.

now i gotta do this all over. that bridge and canal wall were a total biatch. not a happy person right now lol

but! new world bloggie! all my world crap will go here now. (^_^)-b
